How close is a copy to the trader?
You get the trader's percent, not their dollars. Your copy uses the same % of your money as the trader uses of theirs, at the same leverage, usually about 3 seconds later.
If a trader makes 2x, do I make 2x?
Almost. If the trader makes +100% after you start, a copy with a 98% match makes about +98%. It can end a little higher or a little lower. What they made before you started isn't yours. If the trader loses, your copy loses too.
The chart
Every copy has this chart on My copies, under How closely we copy. These are real copies of ours. There are no dollar amounts here, only how close the lines are.
Real copies, Nov 6 2026: 3 accounts big enough to measure (copies of $100 or more), over the last 30 days or since each copy started. Matched 93.4%, 97.7% and 98.6%. Two ahead of their traders, one behind. Small, but real.
- Bright line: your copy. Grey line: the trader.
- The closer the lines, the higher Matched.
- Your line can be above the trader's. That also lowers Matched: it measures close, not good. So we also say ahead by or behind by.
Two numbers
How to read it
What moves it
- Fewer, bigger trades: closer.
- Many small trades: less close, because each copied trade pays costs.
- A bigger copy: usually a little closer.
- Over many months the difference builds up.
$100 next to a $10 million trader
About the same percent, if your copy is at least the trader's Start from. Each order is scaled to your money. Orders under about $11 wait until they add up, so a small copy follows the smallest orders a little later.
Why a result can differ
- Order timing: usually about 3 seconds after the trader.
- Trading costs on each copied trade.
- Orders too small to copy at once.
- The price rule: no open or add if the price is more than 10% worse than the trader's.
- Several traders in one wallet: each copy stays at 20× or less.
Expected match is an estimate, not a promise. It measures how close you stay to the trader, not profit. Copying can lose money.
